Test Taking Strategies

 Before the Test 

• Listen to the Professor
• “Highly encouraged.” = MANDATORY
• “Look at the notes before class.” = MANDATORY

• Correct your homework and previous tests
• Make corrections 
• Know how to do each problem

• Make a “Brain Dump” sheet 
• Practice writing down important formulas from memory. 

 During the Test 

• Take the easy test first
• Read through the entire test before you do any problems.  
• Put a small mark by the problems you think you know how to do and  start with those problems (your easy test).

• Use the process of elimination with multiple choice questions

• Do the test twice
• If you finish early, do the test again and double check your answers
